Freshman Seminar 2: “Evaluating Information: Effective Techniques for Research” for Section

During the session
Students learned to:
- Understand the importance of information and source evaluation for research.
- Differentiate between scholarly and popular
sources of information. - Use evaluation strategies like DRAMA (Date, Relevance, Accuracy, Motivation, Authority).
- How to use the Library’s A-Z Database
During the session, the students did a group activity evaluating 3 different sources using the Activity Matrix Worksheet.
An individual activity to find one scholarly article in the A-Z databases to use as a source in their argumentative essay drafts.
