If the item you need is currently checked out, patrons can place a hold via their online Library account or by contacting Library staff. When the checked-out item is returned, the patron who placed the hold is contacted via email and must pick up the item from the Library within 7 days.

Renew

Patrons have the opportunity to extend their check-out times. See the table below for details on renewal limits.

Need more time?

Patrons can renew their checked out items for any reason.

In-person renewal

Patrons can approach the Circulation Desk and ask for a renewal.

Online renewal

Patrons can renew online through their Library account, or by emailing [email protected].

When can’t you renew?

  • Another patron has placed a hold on the item
  • The item has been placed on course reserve
  • The item is overdue
  • The item has exceeded its renewal limit

Return

Return borrowed materials before the due date to avoid overdue fines.

When to return?

When a patron checks out an item, they receive an email receipt with their due date. Return the item no later than the mentioned date.

Overdue fines

Patrons will be fined 100 AMD each day past the due date that the item is not returned. Fines no longer accumulate after the item is returned.

Paying fines

Patrons can pay their fines in person via the payment terminal (cash only) or online via bank transfer. Approach the Circulation Desk for help.

Lost items

Overdue items are declared “lost” 45 days after the due date. Patrons must pay 10,000 AMD or the price of the item, whichever is greater, charged per item. For lost or damaged items: 1.5 times the current market price.
