Kindle/MultiPad/Laptop Borrowing and Responsibility Policy

To provide access to technology that may be unavailable to current AUA students, faculty and staff in order to promote innovative teaching and learning methods the AGBU Papazian Library offers a number of Kindles/MultiPads/Laptops for use inside the library during the regular library hours.
Kindles/MultiPads/Laptops may be checked out at the Circulation desk for use inside the library.
The borrower is responsible for the handling and safe return of the Kindles/MultiPads/Laptops to the Circulation Desk. Replacement cost of a lost or damaged Kindle/MultiPad/Laptop is the current price of the item.The AGBU Papazian Library is pleased to offer a limited number of Amazon Kindle eBook readers (e-Readers) to its students. The content on the e-readers will include a variety of textbooks.

Borrowing

  • Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. Checkout period is 90 minutes, at which time the laptop must be returned to the Circulation desk. If no one is waiting to use the laptop it may be checked out again for another 90 minutes. If the laptop malfunctions the patron must immediately report it to someone at the Circulation desk. The borrower’s files should be erased from the laptop until the laptop is returned.
  • Kindles are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. Checkout period is 3 hours, at which time the Kindle must be returned to the Circulation desk. If no one is waiting to use the Kindle it may be checked out again for another 3 hours. If the Kindle malfunctions the patron must immediately report it to someone at the Circulation desk. Additional books or any other Kindle formats should not be added, downloaded, or deleted from the e- reader without Library administration’s prior permission.
  • MultiPads are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved. Checkout period is 3 hours, at which time the MultiPad must be returned to the Circulation desk. If no one is waiting to use the MultiPad it may be checked out again for another 3 hours. If the MultiPad malfunctions the patron must immediately report it to someone at the Circulation desk.

Failure to comply with this policy will result in loss of privileges of using library devices.
